Background Information
Black screens can happen for a variety of reasons in Minecraft most commonly incompatible, obsolete, or improperly installed mods, and obsolete or unpatched texture packs. This is neither, its a bug with the minecraft and certain drivers and from what I have experienced this stops it or at the very least makes it happen far less frequently.
